PawMap.com is the initiative of a few dog-loving Internet enthusiasts who love to find new ways to make the Internet a good, wholesome place for families, children, and now . . . dogs.
Dogs seem to bring the best out of people – and now they are helping us to bring the best out of the Internet!
Our goal is to deliver cutting edge Internet experiences, integrating the latest and greatest Internet technologies to help our visitors, whether they are 2-legged or 4-legged, to get the most out of the time they spend online.
So what is PawMap.com exactly? Well, that’s going to depend a lot on our visitors.
- It’s FREE!
- It’s a place to meet other canine enthusiasts.
- It’s the fastest, smartest, most visual way to find new dog friends, a particular breed in your town, etc. – with just a click on the map.
- And it’s a place where you get to share whatever dog-related stuff you want – what’s the best chew toy? What really is the fastest way to housetrain a puppy? Which is the best breed for a family with small children? Can you raise a happy St. Bernard in NYC? Can a Siberian Husky survive a Florida summer?
Our target audience has told us what they want in a site and we are delivering it:
- A place to learn from one another – about breeds, about training, about nutrition, about health . . .
- A place to share our favorite photos, videos and stories about our best 4-legged friends.
- A place where it’s easy to organize meetings among canine friends, breed clubs, etc.
And more. Web 2.0 is providing us with new ways to build sites, to communicate and to allow visitors to experience the Web. PawMap will be continuously evolving, as we, the Internet obsessed nuts behind the scenes keep adding feature-rich technologies for visitors to play with and you – the dog lovers of the world keep adding the content that you want to share and discuss.
Members can set up unique profiles for their puppies or dogs. They can
view each others' profiles, communicate with one another
and meet other members. The service allows members to share photos,
post journals and comments, and describe their pet-related interests.
To enrich the site experience, we request and display some personal
information to other members and visitors, which allows our users to
identify each other and expand their network of contacts. PawMap members
can change their profile information at any time and can control how
other members and the service communicates with them.
